Hypothetically, say someone wants you to build them a website you know they’re some shady ass company that rips people off.

Do you do it anyway and hope that potential customers are smart enough to realize they’re a scam?

Or do you turn them down because you’re morally opposed to helping scam companies?

Discuss.

Boils down to whether or not you’d like to be labeled affiliated with that company. I turn away any and all bullshit just because I don’t like dealing with bullshit. Any hint of drama or trouble forecasted, I decline. You typically just want to ensure you’re protected. As far as the morals part goes, there’s really not any morals in business.

I didn’t mean shady about them maybe not paying you, I just meant by you helping them you’re essentially contributing to other people (their future customers) getting scammed/ripped off.

I think people are drawing the reasonable conclusion that if they have no qualms ripping off their customers, then they probably won’t see anything wrong with ripping you off.

I understand.

Well I wouldn’t do any work for anyone without getting paid upfront anyway. I was just curious.
