Any of you guys use Google checkout to receive payments?

How does it compare to PayPal? Any problems? I’ve been asked if I accept Google Checkout payments and am wondering if it’s worth setting up an account.

I have been using Google Checkout as the primary merchant for online payments for our datacenter and development company. It has been very good and depending on your revenue the fees are quite reasonable.

However we recently had a customer file a chargeback last November for a project we billed and completed last June. After sending Google all the documentation they requested from is, including all email correspondence, our signed terms and a signed release letter showing the client paid for and received the rendered works.. they allowed the charge back to be processed. It took 4 months but in February we lost. Don’t ask me how.

The client is in New Zealand or we would be hot on their trail. Google was pretty disappointing about it.

I recently started using stripe.com for credit card processing through all my new projects as well as web products and services I operate and it has also been wonderful.

ive used google checkout, paypal, and auth.net

all great services, no complaints

Can you use Google Checkout for service transactions where there’s nothing to ship?

I just received a payment and it’s telling me to enter shipping and confirmation information.

There is nothing to ship.

I do through Freshbooks without any issue.
