I own 2 companies, and I have some ideas. I’ve done a lot of SEO but I feel there’s a lot of stuff I still don’t know about. I’ve managed to get first page for lots of my terms, but want to work on my local listings as well as a couple other things.

Anyone willing to let me bounce some questions off of them?

I can trade info/resources. For example, I know a bunch of traffic tricks, and I have a PSD to WP developer who is REAL good and REAL cheap.

I can also just trade general knowledge about traffic, the SEO i do know, websites, etc. (I started a couple websites each got over a million uniques per month until i sold them)

Please do go ahead and share your traffic tips. I’m all ears. A million uniques a month is extremely impressive, if there legit.

I’ve got a site for a business that only needs to be seen by people in my city (a dental office), yet I still can’t get it on the first page under "*city* dentists"

Any suggestions?

– #2 Importance: Build Citations / Local Business Directories.
– Press Release with Address, Local Newspaper Backlinks.
– Google Place Page Fully Optimized
– High Quality Content, Long Length, 100% Original.
– Build more backlinks from high authority sites/comments on local blogs, etc.
– Knowem.com, Basic 25 Social Profiles, Be active and build those up.

I could go on, but that’s enough to get anyone really going forward enough unless it’s amazingly competitive.

No, stay away from there. NEVER, ever, order SEO work from Fiverr.. Some of the most SPAMiest links ever.. Will get your site deindexed fast and you’ll never recover.. What you need is white hat work, manual link building, all of that is automated garbage/spam. It doesn’t work anymore, SEO is expensive today.

– Still SPAM. (I think you’re missing the point.. Your site doesn’t need generic spammy links. It needs manual, relevant, local links to rank). Hows it going to look to Google when every other local dentist has maybe 200 average local links/citations, and you have 1,000’s of spam links around the web? Bad.

– Also none of those are citations.

– Not manual, they say it is, it’s really not. (I can bet they do a shit job on the PR as well, and somehow mess it up. PR’s are great, yes. But knowing WaFo I can bet they’ll take an Article from eZines (steal it), spin it, make it look unique, and in the end it’s still garbage).

– Rank #1, you won’t rank anything using that, lol.

– WaFo SEO = Resold Fiverr Gigs at a Markup, SPAM, or pure garbage. Stay away from there.

You can spend $100’s on those kinds of links and see zero results, get de-indexed from Google, and have to build a new website…

Those are the only things you need to be doing… And you need to be doing them the right way. There’s no "a" "b" "c" package you can buy for SEO. It doesn’t work like that anymore with all the updates.. Local is even harder/more time consuming.

If you really want to rank, it’s going to involve some manual labor and a decent sized $$ investment. (Also please don’t ever take SEO advice from Warrior Forum or Digital Point, or BHW… Everyone on there is a failure in IM, has no idea what their doing, and the sales pages are all pumped with fake reviews)..

"seo" these days is less about link building, but more about building a community and a valuable resource for visitors. something "seo companies" are not capable of doing.

consider making a blog, creating a facebook profile with real likes and followers, google+, twitter.

increase local citations (yelp, business directories, getlisted.org).

press releases don’t increase your rankings directly, but they are great for brand awareness.

work on decreasing bounce rates, and optimizing your website for speed and performance. have a clear call to action.

basic on-page seo (meta, h1, keywords) still apply, but not as much as before. do not overdo it.
