I have a whole bunch of little projects on shitty local shared hosting accounts.

I want to amalgamate them onto a single host, but i’m not quite ready for a dedicated server.

What’s the easiest way to run 20-30 small (<1000 hits/week each) projects on the same host? Each with their own domain etc.

I’m in AU, but was reading up on Linode and it looks cheap and seems to get good reviews. Do they let you have unlimited domains/sites on an account?

I know that traditionally ecommerce sites are built directly through the ecommerce software/cart but I’ve already made my site through wordpress and am having difficulty figuring out how to integrate the shopping cart (femmetrim.com).

I would like things to work almost identically to the checkout system at flotrol.com.

Any help on how I can get this done?

Anyone here have any recommendations/insights on "DIY" affiliate packages, meaning self-hosted packages where you maintain the affiliate program?

If looked at and it looks pretty good. Haven’t been able to find any alternatives that seem to be on that level, partially because I may not be googling the correct phrase and end up finding so many external affiliate programs. Thanks.

Myself and the Fiance run this rock / metal website. Just redesigned it, so some feedback from you guys would be great.

Many thanks.

Too busy, seems cluttered unorganized, unclear content separations, intext is too small…

slightly cleaner version:

scrolled around on it.

Feels myspace-ish, after they tried to force music onto it..

I need to come up with a client/server application to allow remote control of the instruments we sell at my place of employment…

Unfortunately the client and the server will likely be used on a LAN behind a router or other IGD. I need these two pieces of software, each running on a computer behind NAT, to communicate between each other over the internet.

The problem is I cannot ask the user to setup port forwarding in their router or to determine their public IP address (internet/router address) or anything like that… my boss wants it to "just work out of the box"…

Hi,

Can someone recommend a web hosting company for serving Magento.

I am setting up a site for small business. Performance & liability is obviously important but we will not have the traffic that requires dedicated server (so shared environment).

Additionally, we will require help with transferring over the code from local environment (I’ve set up a virtual server on my laptop) to the web hosting environment.

Obviously $ is very important as well as this small business is only starting out.

Looking for some assistance. anybody? Thanks in advance.

Me, whats up?

edit, just saw its an old thread

I have three div elements containing spans that I’m trying to float left with a right margin for spacing. They’re all inside of div class="my_container"

No matter what I seem to throw at them, in IE6 and 7, they each falls down to the next line. I even tried

.my_container *{

float:left !important;
clear:none !important;
}

but that didn’t work, maybe IE6/7 ignores that? The output is generated by a Jquery script that skins select drop downs as these containers and then hides the dropdown, and it gives each element css width via inline css. Anyone encountered something like this? Thanks

The site

This page works fine in IE8/9 and Firefox but when played in safari it seems to skip the first two function and only play the last one on the page…. any ideas?

The AS3 code:

stop();
everett_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btnEverettClickHandler);
function btnEverettClickHandler (event:MouseEvent) : void {
navigateToURL (new URLRequest(""));
trace("I’m clicked");
}

Okay, so the company I work for deploys web outreach software essentially providing a website for each client. We have just purchased a new domain name to use and from there create a sub domain for each new client.

We already have a 2008 server box running IIS7 for the existing domains, but I’ve been given the task of figuring out how to host our new domain name on that box. Of course this is a bit above my head as the most ive done in the past for my own sites would be to change DNS to move my domain from godaddy to my host.
