Noob question so please bear with me and no hate I just don’t know the answer:

My friend patented a product and wants to create websites selling it.

Would google help his rankings when searching for if he had the same exact site marketed online? Example:

HomeMadeBread.com
BestHomeMadeBread.com

If he built the same SEO’d site on both using saying wordpress would it be more beneficial to do that?

Or just use a redirect? If he uses a redirect is there a way to get that redirected URL to be searchable on google as well? So BestHomeMadeBread.com would be searchable even though it only leads to HomeMadeBread.com?

How do you feel about them? Seems like the only good free alternative. VB is just way too much money now.

Use it on 2 sites, and we are currently re-launching a more established site using xenforo, it’s a new forum software from keir & Mike. ( Ex devs from vbulletin )

xenforo.com the forum software is at beta and just got released today, for 100$ you carn’t go wrong really.

Well worth it, but the bigger picture, good fresh content and relevant thread tags will be a bigger factor.

If the content is there you can get ranked high either way really. I’ve seen sites without it get better rankings than sites with it, it all just depends.

or would anyone here be interested in maybe working a few hours to add ie6 compatibility to one of my sites? if so, send me some links from your portfolio that work well in ie6. most of the css for layout is clean.. the second half of the stylesheet is horrendous, though. I haven’t had time to clean it up.

That fixes a ton of issues, give it a shot.

I’m having a bitch of a time keeping the posts centered when they pass the sidebars.

I tried doing the html,body { height:100%; } and putting the height 100% in the sidebars, but they still keep kicking to the left.

I’m not sure if I need to edit the post tags, or the sidebar tags.

I build the WP Theme from scratch, and inherited the CSS from the main page, but the CSS from the main page is pretty advanced. I really need to go into the CSS and clean it up because there’s a whole lot of code there that’s not being used, and I’m worried that it’s flubbing things up.
