Anyone have successful forums like OT? I might have some free time coming up and could help with an extra member or two as well as posts.

I have an OT type forum with about 140k posts and 700 members since Feb. Not much compares to OT my guess would be NN is probably the second biggest OT forum on the net.

You’re forgetting a LOT of forums that are bigger than OT

Gaia, 4chan, IGN, etc are all a lot bigger than OT.

SA is smaller though.

NN isn’t even in the top 100..

I have a successful forum, but its not an "off topic" forum

My forum has been up since July 1st of this year

but that is so small for in forum terms

OT/SA/4chan are your competition. Unless you give them a reason to post there, they won’t. Eventually, they’ll return to their "home" site.

And yeah, NN is pretty small. They have a high post count because there’s a ton of post whores, but their traffic and members count are relatively small.

but yea, you see most of these paid stickies going up, but none of them work.

Only reason why NN worked out as well as it did was because:
1. OT started charging (Pay to Post)
2. OT went down when katrina hit
3. Most of them were OTers so they all somewhat know each other before the forum was begun

I have talked to several of them and paid stickies worked well for them, I am not talking about the idiots that pay to advertise other forums like ot, but the ones that offer true services and they have done real well
