I got a macbook pro i heard you need a mac to start making stuff but thats all I know, I wanted to start with like a hello world app or something.

grab a book or two, it will help. if you like those "head first" books, i think they just recently made one for the iphone. once you sign up for an app iphone developer account (free), they have a ton of example code on their site. there are videos you can watch to get your started as well.
