The sites are not complex, but I don’t want to undercharge, plus its a old friend from highschool, and they are going to compare with some other webdesign people in the area.

Never make any specific guarantees when it comes to SEO rankings. Personal injury lawyers are one of the most fiercely competitive areas, even locally.

The top three results for "personal injury florida" have domain ages of 15, 12 and 15 years. It’s going to be a long, ongoing process to get a new site ranking ahead of those guys.

Yea I already new that, everyone wants to be on the first page but it takes time.

But for the site design and build out do you think 500-600 is good or not enough, I know it varies from person to person, I don’t want to undersell or overcharge. I was thinking of charging 250-300 for seo alone and 500-600 for the website.

No thats not what I meant, I would do a lot more than Meta Keywords, Tags, Image Alts, I have someone that does all SEM and SEO stuff. I Just Do Front End Work. I’m just asking what you would charge for a site similar to the ones I listed.

I have a strong suspicion that there are really only 4 or 5 people in the world that actually do SEO.

Everyone else outsources to them.

you DO NOT want to charge them an upfront price for the SEO work. To rank for terms like those, this will take at least 6 months to get rankings…especially if it’s a new domain. Charge them $750 for the site and then $300/mo for the SEO
