Linode + cPanel VPS license?
Is there a better way to do it?
I manage 20 sites for small/medium businesses (i build them, host them, update them, etc for ongoing fees). So far it’s a mixed bag of hosting, some are on shitty cheap VPSes, some are on my Linode slices with no real management side. I want to put it all somewhere together, but I want each to have cPanel so they can do their own emails/etc.
I’m OK with linux admin, I run a few servers, but i’m no pro.
Or should I just get a reseller account
I have a liquidweb server, they come with WHM(Web Host Manager), every new account you create gets it’s own dedicated cpanel account. Mine is a dedicated server but I think their VPS offers the same tools. I’m happy with them.
Reseller acct, although a VPS should give you a little more of your own CPU/Memory resources. To play it safe get some shitty hosting acct from a DIFFERENT company and have cpanel/WHM do FTP backups to it every other day just in case.
This sounds good. Don’t dedi’s come blank though and you install everything OS-up yourself though? I’m OK doing that, but when you say "they come with WHM" is that a specific package they offer all pre-configured and ready to go for hosts?
I’m sick to death of wrestling my multiple Linodes and manually managing all the sites (editing apache virtualhosts, etc etc… )

They come preloaded with CentOS & whm, shouldn’t have to install anything.
.
Thanks. I’m thinking i’ll go this route.
If I was to go reseller account, who would you guys recommend? Some of the sites are pretty high profile, so reliability is more important than cost.
