Let’s <strike>complain</strike> discuss the new Google Analytics version

It’s different yo

"Visitors Flow" is awesome.

I can’t figure out where to get to the screen that tells what keyword people searched on Google to get there, or the part that tells which pages got how many visitors and shows bounce rate and all that stuff.

edit – found it:

Traffic sources –> Sources –> Overview
Content –> Site Content –> Pages

When I click Search Engine Optimization it tells me to enable Webmaster Tools, which I do (I have an account there, too), but it doesn’t do anything and I can’t get it back to the previous screen ever. Did anyone get this to work correctly?

u know google intentionally blocks the keywords searched now for anyone that’s logged into their google account (ie. the majority of searches)

I’ll complain about that. I’ve been anti-google ever since

Wait, what?

No more ‘export report as PDF’ makes it pretty much useless for our entire company. We depended on that.

Also can’t figure out how to manage automated email reports anymore that go out weekly/monthly?

Yep, it’ll show as (not provided) in analytics

Is that why I’ve been seeing all that "(not provided)" stuff?

So that means the person who was searching for my keywords and found my website happened to be logged into their own Google Analytics account at the time?

What is the purpose for Google withholding this information?

Yep, and not necessarily analytics, just google period (ie. gmail, etc, it’s all integrated).

See video on this page for explanation

Hmm. Watching vid (and normally I hate vids). I also read the other site he linked to about the guy who "declared war" on Google.

Sigh.

https != Intentionally blocking

Anyone signed into their google accounts uses https these days, which doesn’t pass a referrer…they’re not doing it to rape you of your keywords…the keywords are passed via referrer, which no longer exists.

Visitor flow and real time are motherfucking-awesome. <3 the new version.

Actually, https does pass referrer string to another https page. Google’s not linking straight from the SERPs regardless, you’re going to an internal Google page then being redirected. There’s still some referral data, but yes they are scrubbing the keywords string and yes it’s intentional. Click on an adwords ad on the other hand and it’s a different story. Go see for yourself and come back when you’ve got your facts straight.
