Looking for feedback on my latest eBay searching invention

One of my biggest complaints about eBay is that you only have the ability to search one thing at a time. Maybe it is just me, but I like to search, compare, and watch numerous auctions at once. I hate always having switch between tabs and trying to remember what auctions I am trying to watch.

So, I decided to devise a little web application to allow me to search and compare multiple auctions at once.

The idea being that you can search for all ‘sorts of’ things at once, on eBay.

You can check out the site here:

Thanks for any and all feedback!

It just shows the results in the left frame and opens the ones you click on in a new tab. I don’t see how that’s any different from searching on eBay and opening the results you want to look at in a new tab.

You should just be able to return to the site and it will remember your queries through your browsers localStorage capabilities.

Agreed. Trying to link of a new one.

type a search in that box. press enter. type another search. press enter.

hope that helps.

Ohhh.

It did remember my last search when I went back to the page again today.

You probably can’t use something with "eBay" in the name.

I’m trying to come up with a better domain name but all the ones I’ve tried so far have been taken. Will post any I think of.

Is this site for fun or are you going to monetize it? Careful with AdSense since there’s technically no content on your site. They may not allow it.

For now, the only way I am going to attempt to monetize is through the eBay Partner Network.

I plan on adding some login functionality that will allow users to store searches based off a created account. Also, once I have some search terms stored in a database, using that to create links that I could potentially use to get some SEO created through Google.

No real long term plans with the site, just an idea that I wanted to get from my head to the computer.

The name could be something that ends in an "er" but you only use the "r". Like:

tumblr (instead of tumbler)
flickr (instead of clicker)
adhuntr (instead of adhunter – formerly allofcraigs.com, a site that lets you search everything on craigslist without a location)

So you could do like bidseekr.com or something. I dunno.

I like it. ps. doesn’t work for cars.. Just parts.
