"Markup Validation" w3.org Worth Fixing? v. Anyone Here Who Can Do This?

24 Errors, 5 warnings

HTML5, WordPress.. Would like to get these fixed.. Most are just duplicate errors. Will pay.. Is this the best place to check your code? Sorry I’m not a coder, and have really no idea what fixing this will even do.. Is there any benefit in doing so?

I remember in 2001 in college when the internet was new to the mainstream and we were learning how to make websites, they stressed w3 validation. We would get points deducted if our sites didn’t pass

I haven’t though much about it, since.

I’m curious if there’s a reason to do it, still. I mean, I’m sure it’s not a bad thing, but is there any benefit? Doesn’t it just like make sure all your tags are in the right order and you don’t have any unclosed (or unopened) tags and that kind of thing?

edit – just checked some of my sites. My handcoded site has like 18 errors My WordPress sites have between 8 and 30 errors, and this includes some with themes that I paid for.

has 23 errors and 3 warnings.

It helps a ton to google the ones you’re lost with. Also some of them are usually tied together

the w3 validator is kind of like spell check.. it’s useful, but people who write/code for a living don’t rely on it.

I can take a look at it and see what needs to be done, usually it is a really quick fix

I have no idea what you just said

lol

Post up the actual warnings. I like to fix my mistakes because I’m anal but it’s probably not that important. Just don’t be that idiot that has the "Valid HTML" badge without it actually being valid.
