Over the next coupld of days I’m going to start putting together some stickies to go at the top relating to webhosting. In addition I’d like to start monthly tutorials by me or members on how to make money online and or how to improve the amount of money you make. |
That was written by Thomor a while back, now unless I’m blind, 404 stickies not found, and I’m fairly certain no tutorials were ever posted.
WTF, all other forums have stickies, and all we get is a "fuck you, you can’t advertise your shit here" and "hay guys, you are in a webmaster forum", this is like the forum, where there is a shitton of resources to be shared.
So how about we make one?
I’ll begin:
-Stack Overflow – if you are stuck, go here and ask for help, tons of people who know way more shit than you, and are eager to help.
-W3 School – learn how to program
-PHP Bible
-Tryout the different free CMS without installing
-URL Rewriting tutorial(Apache)
-See how your site looks like in different browsers
-Loading Gif Generator
-Background Patterns Generator
-Navbar Generator
-Poll Widget
-Comments Widget(basically add comments to your pages)
-Advanced copy pasta
-WickedFire forum. They have a bunch of tutorials that you might find interesting, just check the stickies.
-Warrior Forum
-Nickcakes newbie guide, pretty much a basic write up of how it works.
-Some software to track performance:
-Submit link to a bunch of bookmark sites
-SEO Toolbar
All current Godaddy coupons:
Facebook free $100
Firefox Addons:
-Search Status(see pagerank/alexa for each page):
-Firebug
-FirePHP – firebug extension for PHP
-Aardvark – good for CSS issues
-Measure It – find out how many pixels in an element
-Colorzilla – advanced color picker/viewer(skip pasting things into photoshop to get the ######)
-Screen Grab – save webpages as images
Non-Firefox Browsers:
-Mouseover DOM inspector
-List of HTML 5.0 sites
-Find ideas for the different niches to get into
-CSS tutorials blog
Seriously most of us have a ton of resources in bookmarks, how about sharing them? None of us really compete against each other, we aren’t Google and Microsoft, so how about creating a good sticky that we can all learn from?
we had some stickies and most where outdated and never updated so king toad unstickied them
I can see one thread, but the problem is with no mod in here, people will not adhere to it and we will have 50 million threads in here about stupid shit
like thomor bragging about taking a shit in an all gold toilet

No clue why firebug didn’t show up, I’m fairly sure I included it when I wrote the initial post.
Yeah I can keep it updated. As long as people tell me which category it goes into and give me a basic description + the url.

Sorry – no matches. Please try some different terms.
Tony up in your forum actually contributing and helping all with less than 3 monitors! Respect!
actually I have 5 monitors :P, I never feel right throwing shit out, so I have 4 of my old monitors collecting dust in the basement
From what little I’ve seen, 5.0 and CSS3 seem like VERY decent replacements. A great reason to "shit can" the old shit.
What I mean is that there was supposed to be a new XHTML 2.0 standard to come out alongside HTML 5.0. XHTML 2.0, however, was shit-canned by the W3C back in July.
Fucking spaz. |
What is the difference between xhtml and html besides extensible? I thought they were basically one and the same… And why spaz?
extensible is a very big difference bra
Ran across this today… It’s a pretty kick ass way to see how your design looks in different browsers. Very handy!
That’s like saying the only difference between XHTML and XML is the hypertext transfer. It’s a pretty big difference. XHTML is considered an XML application, whereas HTML is considered a text stream. As far as the actual markup standards are concerned, XHTML introduced self-closing tags and strictly enforced character data. Less commonly used were support for custom namespaces and XSL transformations. XSL also lead to the development of XPath, which is now heavily used in CSS, though that could very well have happened in the absence of XHTML.
I called you a spaz because I thought you were mocking me with the "shit can" reference. I apologize if I was wrong for assuming that. |
Ah. Thank you for taking the time to explain that. And it’s all good.
There’s a better one out there that doesn’t have as long of wait times. I can’t recall the name of it though.
I have thinstalls of IE6, IE7, IE8, Safari, Firefox 2, Firefox 3, and Chrome. IE versions have the Developer Toolbar. Firefox has Firebug. Safari and Chrome are untampered because I don’t care about them all that much. All for Windows (obviously). I just use a VM for other OSes. |
I’ll add that one until people give a better one
