I use godaddy all the time, but i cant use multiple hosts on one domain. Ie
@ –> 111.111.111.111
and
@2 –> 111.111.111.112
so i can direct
mydomain.com to @
and
svr1.mydomain.com to @2
Will any registrar have a good domain control panel to allow me to do this, i have the domain name in mind, and would like to register is sooner than later.
EDIT: and forwarding is not going to work in this situation… im using it for multiple remote desktops
I essentially want
svr1.mydomain.com to go to my iis server
svr2.mydomain.com to go to my sql server
svr3.mydomain.com to go to my domain server
svr4… and so on
all have seperate ips
wait, not sure if you can do that there though
i saw namecheap.com coming, but all i hear about is reg and thats it… no cp or anything..
Thanks for your input though – it is appreciated
FUUUU… Called Godaddy… Problem solved in no time…
I thought i needed to make multiple hosts then point cnames at them
turns out i just needed to create the host.
@ — regular ip
svr1 —- svr1’s ip…
and creating the host automatically creates the sub domain.. ugh.
BTW, godaddys support is pretty good.
neither have I
Have you tried Verio? They’re a bit more expensive but they’re also a bit better.

I was going to mention this but you seem to have it all figured out, when you create the sub domain host you can typically point it via IP or DNS or something else as well. I always point them with IP i have never used any of the other options.
