What type of CMS to use?

I am looking at creating a website for a specific type of product. I’d like a main page that explains what my company is, etc…but then I’d like a strong CMS system for the different products my company will be selling. I’d like consumers to be able to search by brand, color, rating (filter options). Would shopify be a good CMS to go with? I was also looking at drupal. Any suggestions?

That would be easy in Drupal, but you should post here with more details so that you don’t set it up wrong.

Joomla
Wordpress
ExpressionEngine
Drupal.

They all have their pros and cons, I would suggest comparing each of them

I suggest wordpress to get something up and running ASAP. Use plugins and download a premium plain ecommerce theme. IF your business model is proven THEN you can think about moving to a more robust custom website.

This mentality usually leads towards an unoptimized platform that’s relatively difficult for engineers to maintain.

Well if no one buy his shit then why would it matter.

And if people do buy his shit, he’ll never move off his platform.

Don’t be hack. Do shit right, whilst promoting good agile and RAD methods.

Wordpress is the best CMS solution you can try

WP def has the best resources and plugins out there… and when things break (And they will) you can fix them with a quick google query. Unlike some of the others where your site can be down for a while.

A ton of huge sites use WP too. Easily customizable too; you can either buy a theme and some premium plugins or go with all free solutions and make a kickass site. Also WP can be fully stripped down, Built back up custom and have a completely unique WP build. It’s definitely the best all around choice when making the Pro/Con comparison.
