Anyone have any experience with any decent SEO firms for a small to medium size business? Curious to learn about legit link building if such a thing exists, have done as much code optimization as I know to do.
What I keep hearing is just to make very linkable content and make sure you have a phrase in mind you are targeting, not forgetting description metatag, titles, H1 tag.
I wonder how much more SEO experts can do? Maybe there are some tricks, but I would be extremely careful about giving my money to an expert like that. You might waste money and only find yourself getting blacklisted because of some bad tactic they used.

Here’s the problem with "linkable content": people may love it…but they don’t link to you. You just wait, month after month for people to take the time to build those links.
SEO "experts" create 3rd party sites (Blog.com, squidoo, yola, webs.com), fill them out with similar content to your money page, then link to your site.
Takes a lot of time and patience.

Link bait will only take you so far, especially if you aren’t an established brand. On page SEO is no longer enough to rank for anything mildly competitive, you need an aggressive link building campaign to go with it.
