So, I’ve made a new website for youtube gamers but other than posting a video on my profile how should I go about advertising for it?
I’m waiting for some AdWord freebies to come in but I don’t want to go around spamming forums everywhere about my site.
Normally the first step is to tell your friends, I guess, but mine aren’t really into doing videos for youtube or hang around on forums that often.
Does anyone have some tricks they’ve used to get started?
I wouldn’t spam forums or websites with your site because it will look trashy and unprofessional on your websites part. However, spend a few dollars and buy some ad space somewhere that has a low CPM rate. A good CPM rate is anything under $1. That would be the best way to generate some traffic to your site. One of the tricks I used for my website was to go onto some chats and pick out the real people from the fake and then PM them which generated some traffic. It is all in how you want to go about it and how you want your reputation to be.
Find bloggers willing to let you write articles and post them on your blogs with a link to your website.
Build web 2.0 properties, set up a facebook page for your site. Set up a twitter. Invite, follow people. Submit your site to reddit, stumble, etc.
