Its basically a place for web professionals, service providers etc to post requests to get help with web-related needs. Much like the webmaster lab, but not a forum.
What do you guys think of the concept, look etc
I like the idea itself, very cool.
The design, i’m not so sure about. General layout is fine, simple, to-the-point, the background is just a bit harsh and some of the elements just don’t seem to mesh for me.
Eg the Post Request button/form are stylised, but the top right primary nav is just links. Then the Twitter/blog links are different again.
The general functionality is awesome, the search function is nice and slick, and everything else is fine
looks great in all 3 browsers, fancybox is cool too
sidebar could use some cleaning up, maybe too much text?

Thanks for the kind words..I agree the sidebar has a lot of text — may need to rework that.
The bottom darker yellow info box in the sidebar, that could probably be done better as a graphical/stylised info box showing off the different use cases for the site, rather than just a text list. A bit of spacing and a few icons/pointers/separators and it’d make a huge difference to the sidebar’s "wall of text" feeling.
I like it; it’s very clean.
Plus, the logo/type is great too. Again, it’s simple and clean. However, personally, I would get rid of the bottom "paper bag" edge or have a 100% horizontal bar (white) with the logo and the menu bar the same way you have it but on white but keep "watch video" in yellow.
Nevertheless, I like the idea and the website
@Puppet good idea — that was my idea for v2 of the site.
@we took yer jerbs — what sites have you found that are like this? And the registration part is what I love the best — fast and simple and free to post. As far as the categories, that is something for the future when the site grows. For now there is no need, but the live search works well in the meantime
Sorry misread that. There are some that have similar ideas/features, but none that are tailored this way and for this purpose. Atleast that I haven’t found yet
Yes it is all real content..I have emailed / connected with a lot of past clients / colleagues
looks simple & nice however
- i would add a little gradient, some barley noticeable pattern (absolute maybe) cause it is too simple and therefore may be found cheep
- one more breaking colour would be nice
- footer would be nice
but generally nice web and I might even need it
