Hai guiz. A friend sent me a link to his site and said on some browsers/screen sizes, the scroll bars appear inactive/grayed out even though there is still content not in the window. It looks like he has a bunch of garbage css that isn’t being used but I can’t see where the overflow is set to hidden or anything that could disable the scroll bars.

PS: I know the site is ugly

Tested in IE6/7/8, Safari, and FireFox. I did not see any scrollbar related issues on your site. And I don’t see anything in the code that is disabling the scrollbars.

I do however find it silly that the site works in IE6/7/8, but not in any webkit or gecko based browser. But I guess that’s what happens when you make a site with Microsoft Office.

This site makes me feel I’m on Windows 98. You should tell your friend to consider a re-design. There are templates that can offer a better alternative to that.

truth.

however if I tell him he needs to rebuild - he will ask me to do it. I just want to give him a fix. Maybe he is just seeing things…
