Scaling OScommerce

I’ve searched and can not find the answer.

I would like the entire site to scale to fit the browser window.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thank you

I’m playing with a default installation of 2.3.1 right now. So there’s nothing customized about it.

I’m going through and testing modules that I’ll integrate into the live site.

What would a "more adaptive" approach be? I have always disliked sites that are static to a 1024×768 layout.

What would you recommend instead of OSCommerce?

*note* this is a purely digital goods store.

get out while you can.

use anything but OSCommerce. It has been the demise of my servers. So hackable. Good luck

about to mess with joomla + virtuecart. i’ll let you know how it goes… maybe

I tried almost every cms I could find. I despise almost all of them.

OScommerce is the first one that actually makes sense.

This Site will be purely digital content for sale. I don’t think anything other than a straight cart would make sense for this application.

Custom? Does OSCommerce have digital content delivery or are you handling that after fact? And what volume of products are you selling? I don’t do a ton of big eCommerce. I usually sell limited items and just write a custom app to handle it. I just have exp with OScommerce trying things over the years, and it ever ended well.

I recommend custom a lot cause that’s my style and I enjoy the versatility of it . With that said its poor to re-invent the wheel. You just got to evaluate each projects needs.

If you don’t mind their fees, just make a static site and sell the products via

They don’t allow for sexual content.

OScommerce has download delivery natively supported.

I’ll check out CustomCart.

I checked into the security issues with OSC. It seems there are a few things that all users of OSC seem to recommend to enhance security.

Came in here to ask you on how large of scale do you want to scale and if it was large enough. Was going to tell you to abandon OSCommerce.

What would you suggest?

I’ll be processing ~500 orders a month.
