I have a salesperson blog and need to sticky each salesperson’s bio on top of the other posts. The other posts will be them blogging about products, and news, sales, etc PER their individual category. I’m going to start researching but I figured someone on here might be able to help me out first..

Is there anyway to stick the post on the homepage only?
Anyway to sticky the post on the individual category page only?

Also I’m worried about this problem..

If I sticky 10 posts on the homepage, and the homepage content never changes will that hurt my SEO chances? But there will be new posts listed under those on the next page, and under the categories too..

I have seen some themes with custom menu options to sticky posts, but I assume your theme doesn’t have that option.

I believe the default criteria WP uses to determine post placement is date. So as a fix, you could hack the dates of whichever posts you want stickied to be more recent than every other post. This would keep them at the top. I don’t know the long term implications (if any) of doing this, however. But I have done it before to keep a post at the top, mostly when everything was done and I was like "oh crap, I need this earlier post to be on top." Change date. Post on top.

, Giving the date thing a try.. Edit, didn’t work, just made it "scheduled" and pending.. Hmm.

Installed 4-5 Plugins, searched nothing worked, couldn’t get anything to work with the latest wordpress.
Still looking for help if anyone has any advice to offer.

Don’t set it for a date in the future, just make it more recent than all the others. If it’s a future date it will be pending.

Curious if you found a work around. I haven’t done any research into this yet but I may have an upcoming project where I’ll need something similar. Are there no "featured pots" widgets/plugins?

to sticky a post on the home page, edit the visibility settings for the post you want to sticky

not sure how to sticky posts in categories though
